The Thursday, January 21st  seminar begins at 10am with networking and continental breakfast followed at 10:30am by Perry’s presentation “Creating Dialogue Fearlessly: PR in the Digital Age,” From 11am ‘til 12pm, Perry moderates a panel on the changing face of TV. Entitled From Television to Social Vision. the panel includes former San Francisco Chronicle editor Joe Brown (now at the Las Vegas Sun),  Liam Mayclem, host of CBS-5’s popular Eye on the Bay program and Jonathan Luskin, founder of Flying Moose Pictures, one of Northern California’s most sought-after video production teams.   At 1:30pm, Andres Acosta offers tips in Facebook in 15 Minutes a Day followed by James Teiser’s information-laden Social Security: Best Privacy and Etiquette Practices For Social Media.

David Perry
For over 25 years, Perry has “created dialogue fearlessly” for hundreds of clients and projects. A frequent lecturer on how technology is changing the face of communications, Perry also regularly speaks on the ethics of public relations. Prior to opening David Perry & Associates, Inc. (www.davidperry.com ), he was Advertising Manager for San Francisco Opera (1987 -- 1990), Communications Director for Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (1993 -- 1997) and Media Manager for the San Francisco Partnership (1997 -- 1998). In 1998, he embarked on what he termed a “working sabbatical.” He spent the next 18 months writing his way around the world as editor of the onboard newspaper for the cruise ship Crystal Symphony during which time he visited 46 countries and circumnavigated the globe twice. In January 2006, DP&A, Inc. was honored by San Francisco's Business Arts Council as one its “Exceptional Business” award winners. Perry works closely with the Board of Governors for the SF / Northern California Chapter of the National Association of Television Arts & Sciences, producer of the “Emmy” Awards and is a regular business partner with the San Francisco Convention & Visitors Bureau. On behalf of the Mayor’s office Perry planned-and-managed public/media relations for the Olympic Torch Run in April 2008 in San Francisco. Most recently, he has been called upon to lecture to Federal employees on the accelerating importance of social networking outlets such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. This past year, he oversaw a special effort to market the hidden treasures of San Francisco’s Chinatown on behalf of Mayor Newsom’s office called “DiscoverChinatownSF” and conceptualized and executed the “Escape to the City” Campaign on behalf of the San Francisco Convention & Visitors Bureau to boost local tourist (www.onlyinsanfrancisco.com/escape). In his spare time, he travels aboard ship as a maritime historian. Perry makes his home in San Francisco with his husband, Alfredo Casuso.
 
Liam Mayclem
An Emmy award winning host and a producer for CBS 5 TV's Eye on The Bay, which airs nightly at 7 p.m. on KPIX. Born in London to Irish parents, Liam Mayclem is an Irishman with an English accent. Since the launch of the show in 2005 Liam has travelled to Australia, Canada and many major cities across America. He has cooked with the world's top chef's; Thomas Keller, Tyler Florence, Martin Yan, Cat Cora and many more. Every bit the music fan Liam's favorite event each year - The Grammys which he covers for CBS 5 TV. He has interviewed music royalty; BB King, Ringo Starr, Sting, Tony Bennett and many more. Well known for his "Cheap Eats" series, Liam loves to find as he puts it, "good nosh for cheap." "This is pants down the best gig in TV. I get paid to have fun and turn viewers on to the unique people and places around the Bay and beyond," says Liam. Liam's broadcasting career began at the age of 16, reading cricket scores at County Sound Radio, Guildford in Southern England. His TV career kicked into gear in 1989 when he joined Channel TV on the island of Jersey, UK as a News Announcer and reporter. He left the island in 1994 and ventured west to get a piece of the "American dream". First stop TechTV as a show host. Then, KRON 4 as the morning liveshot reporter from 2001 to 2005. In his spare time Liam enjoys live concerts and theater and enjoys venturing outdoors and exploring the Bay Area. He is a keen fundraiser and has a few favorite charities; AIDS Emergency Fund, Project Open Hand and The Northern California Cancer Center.
 
Jonathan Luskin
Co-founder of Flying Moose Pictures, a San Francisco based video production company providing services for clients located throughout the world. The Moose are experts at telling compelling stories through moving images and partnering with members of the business and artistic community. They serve a diverse client list including large corporations, small businesses, non-profit organizations, theatre, dance and opera companies and dozens of individual artists. Jonathan produces and directs, supporting every element of video production from concept development through production, editing, visual effects and graphics, music composition and sound design. Jonathan Luskin worked for 17 years as an animator and technical director at Industrial Light and Magic, Colossal Pictures, UC Berkeley, and San Francisco State University, among others. He writes, produces, and directs for both film and theatre. Jonathan has directed for many Bay Area theater companies, receiving the Goodman Choice Award for Directing for three productions. His plays have been produced by The Best of PlayGround, the Bay Area Playwrights Festival, and commissioned by the Magic Theatre. Jonathan is currently developing a semi-improvised comedy for the Internet.
 
Joe Brown
Recently named managing editor of Las Vegas Weekly. He joined the Las Vegas Sun in 2008 as a reporter, critic and blogger focusing on entertainment and culture. A writer and editor with more than 20 years of experience in print and electronic media, Joe worked as a writer and editor at the San Francisco Chronicle and The Washington Post before gambling on a move to Vegas.
 
Andres Acosta
Co-founder of Dynamic Reflection (DReflect)- an independent social media group dedicated to helping clients stand out and do more on the social web. Mr. Acosta helped DReflect grow into a full service, award winning firm with clients in the US, Latin America, Europe, Australia, and Africa. He has contributed to a variety of social media marketing campaigns for the Arts, Health, Energy, Entertainment, Bar/Restaurant, Fashion Tourism and Software industry. At DP&A, Andres helped launch the New Media Made Easy educational series.
