Special Thursday Night “Treatment Parties” Benefit Area Artists & Nonprofits

April 23 features Leonor Greyl products

April 30 features Arbonne’s “Facelift in a bottle”

23 April 2009 – San Francisco, CA: Who doesn’t like a little pampering – personalized pampering? At Russel Thompson’s eagerly anticipated new Carmichael Salon (www.carmichaelsalon.com) just off Union Square at 619 Post Street, that is the promise and the treat. Think of it as the neighborhood salon where everyone knows your name and your needs. The Salon will have its official Grand Opening on Thursday, April 23 at 6pm with a reception featuring an appearance by Caroline Griffith North American President for Leonor Greyl of Paris.  This Grand Opening event will initiate weekly Thursday night “Treatment Parties” which will also feature local artists and specially curated panels and educational opportunities for Carmichael clients. On April 30, Carmichael will host a demonstration of Arbonne’s popular “Facelift in a bottle” regimen.

“My vision is to create a supportive and nurturing experience for our clients -- a place that feels like you’re visiting friends for a great dinner party,” says Thompson, known to legions of fans for his spot-on color work and years at San Francisco’s Joseph Cozza salon. “The Carmichael salon is staffed with top talent working in the most professional environment, but without being stuffy or pretentious. First and foremost, our staff is comprised of great communicators who really understand a client’s needs, concerns and boundaries.”

With clients as diverse as the City it serves --  from students to “soccer moms,” from students to socialites, from CEOs to media stars -– Carmichael Salon brings a new level of cordial expertise to the industry. The one thing they all have in common: the desire for great hair done by a caring staff. Thompson has assembled some of San Francisco’s most talented and experienced stylists and colorists, all working with the highest level of skill in a professional, warm and pampering environment while using cutting edge products from small manufacturers.

“Our close personal relationships within the industry gives us a great deal of input on the development of new products and ensures that my clients are paying for quality ingredients,” says Thompson who developed the concept of the weekly “Treatment Parties” to highlight those relationships and offer additional value to his customers.  “My concept is simple: offer the quality, beauty services and grooming of a large salon in a comfortable, personable, boutique environment.”

The Carmichael Salon staff is continually bettering themselves. Thompson holds weekly classes to update and hone the skills of his team. While most salons do this for the assistants only, Carmichael’s whole staff is engaged in ongoing training in all aspects of hair-care in addition to keeping up-to-date with the latest in communication, service, organics and health.

The first of Carmichael Salon’s “Treatment Parties” highlights just such an approach and product.  Leonor Greyl of Paris is a noted as being a leader in the industry with regard to its eco-friendly and “no animal testing” stance. In addition, it eschews the use of parabens, silicone and sodium laureth sulfate so common to many hair-care products. With over 40 years of expertise in natural hair beauty and treatments, Leonor Greyl is adored by VIPs, celebrities and stylists worldwide, making it an exclusive and selective international brand.

“Our goal is to continue to move toward green and organic products and procedures,” explains Thompson. “We believe that beauty starts from the inside and we promote supporting what we do on the outside with nutrition.”

“At Carmichael, it’s not just about hair care, it’s about  care for your hair and spirit,” says Thompson. “I want to create an experience that I have found has been missing from San Francisco hair salons.  All of us here are driven by one over-riding mission: to listen to you and help you become the best you can be.”
