Rita Haronian has been involved with Human Resources issues in the nonprofit sector since 1983, when she assisted Barbara Schilling, co-founder of The Management Center, with one of first Wage and Benefit Surveys for the Northern California nonprofit community. She created several database applications over the following years to produce the annual Northern California survey, and also designed customized applications that were licensed to nonprofit organizations in Los Angeles, Houston, Seattle, Kansas City, Oregon and North Carolina.
