Capricorn & Walter Adams Framing: Standing With Art for AIDS

Giving Tuesday: Standing With Art for AIDS — A Legacy of Care, Craft, and Community

World AIDS Day

Today on Giving Tuesday, coming on the heels of World AIDS Day, we pause to honor a history that is both deeply personal and profoundly communal. For more than four decades, San Francisco’s creative, compassionate, and resilient AHP community has been on the front lines of the fight against HIV and AIDS. And for just as long, artists, framers, galleries, and craftspeople have stood shoulder-to-shoulder in that effort — including two people very close to our hearts: Lloyd Haddad and Keith Wicker, co-owners of Capricorn Framing and Walter Adams Framing. For Lloyd and Keith, supporting Art for AIDS isn’t a campaign. It’s a commitment — one grounded in lived experience, decades of community service, and a belief that art has always been part of healing.

A Legacy of Giving Back:
Long before they took the helm at Walter Adams Framing, Lloyd and Keith were already deeply involved with Art for AIDS, donating their time, their craft, and their professional expertise as owners of Capricorn Framing year after year. From framing donated pieces to mentoring young artists to ensuring each auction work shines at its absolute best, their contributions reflect the heart of this event: artistry in service to compassion.

Their support  for AHP translates directly into medical care, mental-health services, housing support, and life-saving resources for San Franciscans living with HIV.

And this year, the need is more urgent than ever.

Why Art for AIDS Matters Now

According to the World Health Organization:

  • 40.8 million people were living with HIV globally in 2024
  • 630,000 people died from HIV-related causes in 2024
  • 1.3 million people acquired HIV in 2024

Closer to home, life-saving services are being defunded, disrupting treatment and care for those in San Francisco who need it most. AHP continues to face the inequities that affect our clients — inequities in access, in healthcare, and in social support systems. As we mark World AIDS Day and Giving Tuesday, we are reminded that this work is not finished.

How You Can Help:
Today, we invite our community of artists, collectors, clients, and friends to join Lloyd and Keith in supporting this essential cause by giving to Art for AIDS:

Donate directly:

Every gift — no matter the amount — helps sustain the frontline services our city depends on. And every donation honors the tens of thousands of lives touched by AHP’s steadfast mission.

Craftsmanship Meets Compassion:
At Capricorn Framing and Walter Adams Framing, artistry doesn’t end at the edge of a canvas. The frame — the care, the detail, the hands that build it — is part of the story. Lloyd and Keith have brought that same care to Art for AIDS year after year, helping ensure that every piece in the auction is presented with dignity, beauty, and respect. On this Giving Tuesday, we celebrate their dedication and invite you to be part of that legacy.

Give. Remember. Support. Build a future where HIV stigma is erased, care is universal, and our creative community continues to lift one another up — frame by frame.
