Today on the anniversary of her birth, we celebrate the life and legacy of Rainbow Honor Walk honoree Jane Addams (September 6, 1860 – May 21, 1935). A pioneering social reformer, author, and peace activist, Addams co-founded Chicago’s Hull House and was the first American woman to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. She was a leader in women’s suffrage, social justice, and international peace efforts, and her life’s work continues to inspire generations.
