TOMORROW – Saturday, August 22: Free Pier Party at Sunset brings Chuy Gomez,  salsa, bachata and Bayonics to Fisherman’s Wharf

Golden-hour waterfront celebration runs 5pm-9pm
at the Triangle Lot on Taylor Street

21 August 2026 – San Francisco, CA: Dr. Seuss put it simply: “Fun is good.” Tomorrow, Saturday, August 22, Fisherman’s Wharf is putting that wisdom into action with a free Pier Party at Sunset featuring legendary Bay Area DJ and radio personality Chuy Gomez, a Bachata and Salsa sunset intermission, and a closing performance by Mission District-born Bayonics.

Taking place from 5pm to 9pm at the Triangle Lot on Taylor Street, the free golden-hour gathering will offer live music, interactive dancing, ample room to gather and dance, waterfront views and the vibrant energy of Jefferson Street. Guests can also make an evening of it by visiting the Wharf’s dozens of restaurants, retailers and attractions.

“There is nothing quite like watching the sun go down over San Francisco Bay while the music is up and people are dancing,” said Bri Maughan, Executive Director of the Fisherman’s Wharf Community Benefit District. “This Saturday brings together three things San Francisco does brilliantly – great local talent, cultures that come together on the dance floor and one of The City’s most beautiful waterfront settings. We invite everyone to join us for a free evening at the Wharf and support the neighborhood’s local businesses while they are here.”

Chuy Gomez opens the celebration from 5pm to 6:30pm. A legendary Bay Area DJ and radio personality, Gomez has helped fuel Northern California’s music scene for more than 30 years. Best known for his two-decade run on KMEL and his current afternoon-drive slot on 102 JAMS, he brings a signature mix of hip-hop, throwback R&B and classic soul, along with a deep connection to Bay Area music and culture.

A Bachata and Salsa sunset intermission will keep the crowd moving before Bayonics takes the stage from 7:30pm to 9pm. Born in San Francisco’s Mission District, Bayonics has spent two decades blending reggae and Latin music into a sound as distinctive as the city itself, carrying forward the genre-crossing Bay Area tradition of groups including Santana and Sly & The Family Stone.

Pier Party is presented by the Fisherman’s Wharf Community Benefit District every second and fourth Saturday through September. Fourth-Saturday Pier Party at Sunset events transform the Triangle Lot into a free golden-hour gathering place with interactive activations, room for dancing and live music through sunset. Ample parking is available within the district, but locals are encouraged to use public transit when possible.
