TO HOLD TOWN HALL IN SAN FRANCISCO
ON COMMUNITY, CONNECTION, AND HEALTH
  
 
(San Francisco, CA.) – On Monday, May 2, at 6:30 p.m. PST, the Surgeon General of the United States, Dr. Vivek Murthy, will hold a town hall at Manny’s in San Francisco. He and Manny Yekutiel, founder of Manny’s, will participate in a fireside chat about rebuilding a more connected society as the nation continues to recover from the COVID pandemic. The fireside chat will be followed by a question-and-answer session with the audience and online participants. There will be a media availability directly following the end of the town hall.  Manny’s serves as a community focused meeting and learning place in the heart of San Francisco that combines a restaurant, political bookshop, and civic events space. Manny’s goal is to create a central place to become a better informed and more involved citizen. During this town hall, the Surgeon General will discuss the physical, emotional, and societal ramifications of loneliness, and he will answer questions about how we can heal as individuals, communities, and as a society.  Earlier on Monday, Dr. Murthy will also speak at The Atlantic’sIn Pursuit of Happiness Summit on the topic of community and connection. His session will begin at 2:10 p.m. PST. Appointed by President Biden and confirmed by the Senate in March 2021, Dr. Murthy serves as the “Nation’s Doctor” and is charged with promoting and protecting the nation’s public health.     WHAT: Town Hall on Community, Connection, and Health with the U.S. Surgeon General and Manny Yekutiel   WHEN: Monday, May 2: 6:30pm PST TIME: 6:30 P.M.
